Psalm 128:2 The sound of the keyboard, the ticking clock, and a long to-do list can weigh more than your morning coffee. In the midst of that routine, it's not always easy to maintain peace. Work brings real responsibilities, deadlines, demands, people with different personalities, and decisions that cannot be delayed. There, the pressure to respond quickly arises, along with the fear of making mistakes and, at times, the feeling that everything depends on my own strength. But devotional life doesn't stay outside the office, the workshop, the consulting room, or the home where work is also done. God is interested in my working hours, my honest effort, and how I treat others while I carry out my tasks. The psalm declares: “When you eat the fruit of your labor, you will be blessed, and it will go well with you.” It doesn't promise a life without weariness, but a blessing that accompanies faithfulness. The Lord sees the bread earned with integrity, the work done with patience, the decision not to give in to dishonesty or resentment. Eating the fruit of one's labor is more than receiving a wage; it is resting in God's provision while diligently doing one's part. Blessedness doesn't come solely from the result, but from walking under Heaven's approval. That's why I need to ask the Lord to order my day before urgency throws it into disarray. If I work in fear, my heart grows weary; if I work with God, even heavy burdens become manageable. Today I can begin with prayer, respond with gentleness, perform with excellence, and leave in God's hands what I cannot control. Peace at work doesn't depend on everything being easy, but on my inner being remaining subject to the Lord.
