Yasser Tejeda & Hector Payan - Merengue Jam 1

After interviewing Don Héctor Payán (if you haven't seen parts 1 and 2, I recommend them; they're on my Patreon page www.patreon.com/yassertejeda), we recorded this jam session over a simple merengue beat. We started with the bassline and melody of the merengue "San Antonio," then moved to mambo and stayed there improvising and making variations, showing different ways of approaching the rhythm and improvisation within the style. This was completely improvised, a jam session that came about spontaneously, without planning.
