Is it the most iconic rock guitar intro solo ever? I don't know, but it's extremely difficult to figure what the great man was doing, I'll tell you that much! In my attempts to figure this out, I realised once again that Prince was watching his colleague - EVH - very closely. There are a couple of decidedly Edwardian passages involved. Played on that fantastic Hohner Madcat that I borrowed to do my first Prince video over a year ago and still haven't returned. I blame Dan Andrews.
