When remodeling a home, is it okay to cut through a joist board?
What did the Helpful Home Inspector find onsite today? When doing remodeling, do it yourself isn't necessary a bad choice; however, you need to learn what can or cannot be done. Placement of drains for showers should not be over a joist which supports the floor in the upper level. Cutting a piece out of a joist should not be an option as it may alter the structure of the home. Sometimes hiring a professional is a better option. Remember the better you take care of you house, the better it will take care of you! music thanks to Epidemic Sound © 2025 Helpful Home Inspector LLC #helpfulhomeinspector #HSHPropertyInspection #whatfoundduringinspection #hotmess #supportbeams
