G7 Summit: PM Modi Flags Trust Deficit, Holds Key Bilaterals Ahead Meet With US President Trump

At the G7 Summit in Evian, France, the Indian Prime Minister held bilateral meetings with the leaders of Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates. During his intervention at the summit, the Indian Prime Minister highlighted a global trust deficit, stating that trade and technology are being misused for narrow interests. He stated that the world suffers from a shortage of trust rather than resources, and called for building international partnerships to ensure energy, food, health, and economic security. The summit also included a meeting between the Indian Prime Minister and the US President after sixteen months. The two leaders are scheduled to hold bilateral talks to discuss strategic ties, defence partnerships, H-1B visas, and a trade deal aimed at achieving a five hundred billion dollar target. Additionally, discussions on the Indo-Pacific region, the Quad Summit, and the West Asia crisis are expected.
