Is Starmer’s £15bn defence plan enough to protect Britain?

Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced a £15 billion defence investment plan over four years to pay for high tech weaponry to transform the armed services. [Subscribe to our Substack newsletter: https://channel4news.substack.com/sub...] In what may be the last significant policy decision of his premiership, Starmer said some of the money comes from cuts to capital spending on roads and energy. The former Defence Secretary John Healey resigned two weeks ago before the increased spending was announced, saying it was not enough to keep the country safe. So is Keir Starmer trying to burnish his military legacy before leaving office? Will his successor honour the commitment?
