Een dagje Efteling: hoe toegankelijk én gezond is dat eigenlijk? 🦽🍏🎢

♿ How truly accessible is Efteling for someone in a wheelchair? For this first mission of The Mobile Brigade, we headed to Efteling to experience it for ourselves. Jacqueline and Kajanda take you along, Tom tested the facilities with his Bi-Go balance wheelchair, and camera and sound engineer Will provides support wherever he can. We investigated, among other things: ✅ Accessibility of attractions ✅ Wheelchair routes and adapted entrances ✅ Waiting times and the facilities map ✅ Service and assistance from staff ✅ Quiet and sensory-friendly facilities ✅ Signage and information provision ✅ Healthy food options in the park We took a closer look at various attractions, including Danse Macabre, Symbolica, Fata Morgana, Droomvlucht, the Python, Max & Moritz, and De Vliegende Hollander. What works surprisingly well? What obstacles do wheelchair users face? And how truly accessible is a day at Efteling if you depend on an assistive device? Our conclusion? The Efteling does a lot right and visibly pays attention to accessibility, but there are also areas for improvement. We saw opportunities, particularly in the areas of communication, signage, and the safe and dry parking of assistive devices. Additionally, we were positively surprised by the options for responsible dining in the park. After all, a day out is naturally about enjoyment, but freedom of choice is part of that too. 💬 Have you ever visited the Efteling with a wheelchair, mobility scooter, or facilities card?
