【驚異の6割留年】1週間で100時間勉強するテスト前のハンガリー医学生

This time, as the final installment of our series on preparing for the first semester's anatomy exam at the Hungarian Medical School, I documented a week in the life through a Vlog! The Hungarian Medical School is notorious for its unusually high rate of students having to repeat a year or drop out, and astonishingly, this anatomy exam has resulted in 60% of the students in the first semester being required to repeat the year. It might be hard to believe, but unfortunately, it's true. At the University of Debrecen, the fall semester includes a 7-week exam period, plus a 2-week winter break, and an additional "Extension Week" (a system where students who only have one subject remaining can apply to take a special exam), making for a total of 10 weeks. During this period, students can take exams for each subject up to three times. Even with this exam period, the fact that so many students have to repeat the year demonstrates the severity of the Hungarian Medical School. There are various reasons for having to repeat a year, but the oral exams significantly influence the outcome due to the professor's disposition on the day, topic luck, and mental state. However, it's not all down to unfairness or luck, and I don't want prospective students to misunderstand this. Still, I hope those considering attending the Hungarian Medical School do so with full awareness of what it entails. It's undoubtedly a challenging path, but overcoming this rigorous training can help you grow into an excellent doctor!
