Dogwood Maul and Wedges for Splitting
In my journey to cutting a cord of firewood with just an ax, my means of getting large logs back to base camp is my back. But this old man ain't shouldering a 12 inch diameter by 6 to 9 foot long log. I use wedges to split them down to manageable size. The dogwood maul and wedges accompany me and my double bit ax in the field.
