Pacific Ocean Salmon Fishing

From early Spring and into late Fall and Winter, all salmon species gather in the Pacific Ocean just outside of river mouths and bays to stage for the transition from saltwater back to freshwater. They begin their return to natal spawning grounds to spawn and die. 97% of them will try to find the exact spot and 3% will stray as a way to preserve their species. The Pacific Ocean though it may use the term "calm (Pacific)" in its name can be a very dangerous place and sport boats must choose—or be told by the Coast Guard—which days are safe and which days are not to enter the BIG BLUE based on tides and wind speeds that day. We chose a day with an early morning incoming tide and low winds. ENJOY!
