Tweety's Travels: Abbeydale Miniature Railway

The Sheffield branch of the Pre-War Austin 7 Club got invited by the good folks of the Sheffield & District Society of Model & Experimental Engineers to come and have a play on the trains at their Members Open Day today. In theory it was to let us have a look at their engineering, and for them to look at ours, but in reality it was so that we could play trains! We had a great time, the site is well laid out and a lot of work has been done to it since last I visited. There were a number of locomotives in steam, and there is something very relaxing about sitting on the back of an empty carriage with a cup of tea while the leafy scenery goes by. Thanks to everyone at Abbeydale Miniature Railway for letting us join them, we'll certainly be back!
