1. Yahweh's Messenger, the "Image of the Invisible God"

The Apostles repeatedly stated that no mortal has ever seen God Himself, and no mortal is capable of seeing Him. However, Jesus claimed that He alone had personally seen God. This immediately raises a difficulty in the many Old Testament Scriptures which claim that "God" and "Yahweh" appeared to humans and spoke face to face with the patriarchs, Moses, etc. This Person, who used God's name and title, was called Yahweh's "Messenger."
