Former Tijuana mayor Montserrat Caballero lashed out once again at Baja California governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda. In a message posted on social media, she accused her of trying to take her home and delay her residency with her husband, Raid Ravanfar. The former mayor, affiliated with Morena, also accused Marina del Pilar's husband, the former coordinator of Public Space Regeneration Projects, Carlos Torres Torres, of trying to end her career. "You tried to take my house and paid with yours. Your baseless lawsuits have delayed my residency with my husband. I clarify that delaying is not the same as preventing, but you did lose your visa," wrote Montserrat Cabalero. On June 27, in a video posted on social media, Caballero stated that Marina del Pilar had not been able to deny owning a residence. The governor of Baja California stated that the property (purchased for $3,995,000) belonged to a friend. This was in reference to Fernando Salgado Chávez, director of INTL Builders, where Anakaren Sánchez Rodríguez, wife of Ricardo Iván Carpio, who was attorney general in the current state administration, served as financial director. The denial published by the Baja California government came weeks after the United States government revoked the visas of the governor and Torres Torres. The former mayor of Tijuana asserted that, instead of ruining her career, Torres Torres ended up ruining Marina del Pilar's: "Your husband tried to destroy my career with his friend and ended up destroying yours, and now he's in hiding, while I continue to face each and every one of your lies." She also compared her municipal administration with the state government of Marina del Pilar. “Those who lie, steal, and betray are others. Not me,” he concluded.
