Fittings 101: Flanges & Flange Fittings

Flange fittings are usually used in high-pressure applications when using different types of tubing. These fittings can help bolt tubing and other components together to secure a flange fitting or section of pipe. Flange fittings are also easily accessible so that it’s easier to modify, clean or inspect the system. But some flanges can be permanently welded together depending on the desired purpose of the fitting. Two flanges bolted together with a gasket in between will help secure the seal.
