Outboard revs increase but boat doesn't accelerate

If you have a situation where you increase the throttle on your outboard and the boat doesn't go much faster, chances are the rubber bushing in the propeller has failed. When an outboard motor has a spun hub in the propeller it can feel like you are driving a car that has a slipping clutch, and in many ways it is a similar problem.
