I was privileged to join industry experts and well-meaning Nigerians on Tuesday Live, anchored by Cyril Stober, to discuss “Blue Economy: Nigeria’s Path to Net Zero Shipping by 2050.” I was honored to share the platform with distinguished professionals including Dr. Oma Ofodile, Director of Marine Environment Management, NIMASA; Dr. Odunayo Ani of the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association Nigeria (WISTA Nigeria); and Dr. Shehu Gidado, Head of the Academic Planning Unit, Nigeria Institute of Transport Technology, Zaria. The discussion focused on sustainable shipping, maritime decarbonization, and the opportunities within Nigeria’s blue economy as the nation works towards achieving net zero emissions in the maritime sector.
