This may be the PERFECT place for beginners!

From April 22, 2026: I believe that the "lake" at the Myrtle Grove WMA is the perfect place for beginners who are just getting started in kayak angling. Big enough to have to paddle some, but confined so that you won't end up miles from your launch point. During spring there aren't many ways to snag a lure, but you can practice getting them back easily. And oh yeah - there's multiple species of fish that you can catch! #fishing #kayakfishing
