Logical, well-executed, with good ergonomics and a well-thought-out gait, we already liked it when we tested the conventional variant. Now, in this plug-in hybrid version, it adds the versatility of being able to have an electric-powered daily car, which reduces fuel consumption and emissions, with combustion engines allowing you to cover long distances without worrying about charging stations, infrastructure, or maximum cruising speeds. The term GSe can be misleading, in any case, since although the car is a bit stiffer than the regular Astra and has somewhat more direct steering, it still lacks the typical sporty setup, agility, or punchiness of the GSi of yesteryear. It is, therefore, a good all-rounder for everyone, with long legs to maintain very high cruising speeds and commendable fuel economy. Of course, if you need more trunk or rear seat space, it's not the best option in the segment, although the station wagon version can address some of that issue. The other issue is price.
