Araguaína Tocantins BR-153 indo Até porta do Cliente

Araguaína is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Tocantins, in the North Region of the country. Its estimated population in 2022 was 171,301 inhabitants, making it the second most populous in the state, behind only the capital, Palmas. According to Araguaína historian Raylinn Barros da Silva, after the creation of the federative unit of Tocantins with the 1988 Constitution, Araguaína was the largest city in the state during its early years, having later been surpassed in population by Palmas, the planned capital that emerged alongside the new state. Its Mesopotamian location between the Araguaia and Tocantins rivers, its proximity to the states of Pará and Maranhão, the strengthening of the MATOPIBA economic region, and its road and rail access make the city an important regional center.
