Chinook Salmon Fishing in Ucluelet British Columbia

How to catch Chinook or King Salmon Trolling Lures and rolling herring off the coast of Ucluelet on the Pacific Ocean in the province in British Columbia. This is an adventure that I was able to take to Vancouver Island last summer with my wife and kids. My mom and dad came along as well to visit and take my dad out for some fishing action. Putting in time with small spoons and needlefish hootchies was very productive. When the lure bite slowed down we had great results using small herring in anchovy holders. In this video I explain how to fish the lures and roll herring in an anchovy holder to attract large salmon to strike your gear. We also head out from the coastline to Big Bank and Rats Nose for some bottom fishing. The wind came up a bit which made it harder for us to bottom fish without an anchor. We were able to catch a few flounder and a Black Cod as well. These fish are also called Sablefish really do taste amazing. We devoured the buttery fish at home freshly baked. It truly is a wonderful fish to eat. Salmon fishing was so good that we also took some of our fish into the fish processor, "Ukee Seafood and Fish Pak", who did an amazing job on our fish. Since we went for a longer period of time this year we were worried that we might have the fish on ice for too long fresh prior to processing everything at home. They helped us pack our first three days of fish and it was all frozen and packed in a cooler for us to take home on our last day. Very affordable for keeping your fish high quality and packed professionally. In this video we also included our last day on the water. Again we caught several beautiful Chinook with the family. It was fascinating and the best we have done on Chinook on the ocean. We didn't catch many coho or other species of fish, but I think we came home only one or two fish short of a total limit.
