Just a few kilometers from the sweltering heat of Santa Marta, the road climbs into the foothills of the Sierra Nevada to Minca. The village is enveloped in lush vegetation, often shrouded in mist at the end of the day. It's nicknamed the ecological capital of the region. Here, the pace slows and nature reclaims its space. We settled in for four days. Precious time to disconnect, listen to the songs of countless birds—Minca is a paradise for observing toucans and hummingbirds—and explore the surrounding area on foot, enjoying the cool air. On the agenda: 💦 The coolness of Pozo Azul. After a walk in the shade of tall trees, you reach these natural pools formed by the river. The water is cool and clear, the setting surrounded by jungle. A beautiful spot to capture the fluidity of the water and the light filtering through the canopy. 🥾 Hiking and leisurely strolls in the surrounding area. Minca is best discovered on foot. We explored the dirt paths that wind around the village, between ancient coffee plantations—the region is renowned for its organic coffee—and forests of giant bamboo.
