POS-KUPANG.COM - TPNPB-OPM Spokesperson, Sebby Sambom, denied the allegation that the execution of Yantinus Kogoya and his wife, Shelly Wenda, in Yahukimo was a mistake. Sebby conveyed this denial in a press release from the TPNPB National Commission Headquarters Management released on Saturday (July 25, 2026). In his statement, Sebby stated that the clarification was based on reports received from the TPNPB Operations Commander, Kodap XVI Yahukimo, Major Kopitua Heluka, the Battalion Operations Commander, Yamue Dejang Heluka, and TPNPB troops from Kodap III Ndugama Derakma from the Wesem Battalion. According to Sebby, the TPNPB claimed that Yantinus Kogoya and his wife were executed for their alleged involvement in Indonesian military operations in the TPNPB's operational area. Sebby stated that, based on reports received, Yantinus and his wife had brought heavy equipment into the TPNPB's operational area for the benefit of a company they had established. After access to the area was restricted, the two reportedly returned with security personnel to continue their activities. Furthermore, Sebby claimed that Yantinus assisted security personnel in entering their operational area by air and via the Trans Papua route. According to him, these actions resulted in the deaths of several of his members in gunfire and bomb attacks.
