KFS launches participatory forest management plan

The Kenya Forest Service (KFS) has launched a participatory forest management plan for the communities of Ontulili, Marania, Muchene Community Forest and Ngare Ndare Forest Trust Associations While presiding over the launch, the deputy chief conservator of forests, natural forest conservation, Beatrice Mbula called for more partnerships aimed at community empowerment and conservation. Lewa Chief Programs & Partnerships Officer, John Kinoti, urged those present to keep growing trees as a way to mitigate the adverse climate change effects such as floods and prolonged drought.
