CARESSES, A robot for the elderly that knows about different cultures (featuring Pepper).
The robot in this video runs a ground-breaking new AI that was developed by CARESSES, an international research project. The robot running the CARESSES AI is called Pepper and is made by SoftBank Robotics. In the video you will see the robot interact with care-home residents in the UK and Japan. Unlike many robots you may have heard of, our robot is fully autonomous, it is not operated remotely by a person. CARESSES has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 737858 and from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan.
