What ACTUALLY Happened to SCP: Unity?

There was once a remake being developed for SCP: Containment Breach in the Unity Engine; it was usually called SCP: Unity. There were still many of the original SCPs from Containment Breach we all know in love such as SCP 173, SCP 106, and SCP 939, but there were also many new SCPs that created all new and interesting gameplay scenarios; such as SCP 131 and SCP 650. Millions of people were very excited to see where this game went, and big YouTubers like Markiplier were making videos showing off its latest progress. Unfortunately, the game ended up being cancelled in early 2021. The head developer stated he was suffering from major health issues that stress from developing the game was making much worse. Fans were very disappointed to see all the work put into the game end up amounting to nothing; but most were initially understanding that for the lead developer, it was more important to prioritize his health. However, people started to question the official reasoning for the game's cancellation. If the lead developer could no longer develop the project because of his health issue, why couldn't he have just handed the project off to a new person or group of people? There were plenty of talented developers who would have loved to take that role. 5 years later, it is now possible to find several posts online that allege a very different story for the game's cancellation; relating to drama and instability between the game's leadership, and the rest of the development team. In this video, we take a deep dive into what ex developers and fans claim were causing problems behind the scenes, plummeting morale for the entire team.
