Hagi and Nagato in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. This is a travelogue of small towns. Nagato is the hometown of the poet Kaneko Misuzu, whom every Japanese person knows. It contains the story of Hagi Castle, belonging to the Mori clan who were defeated by the Tokugawa at the Battle of Sekigahara, and the story of the Kuchiva clan, who followed suit by building a grand mansion within the castle grounds and whose descendants still live there today.
