During a religious study session at the Baitussakinah prayer room in the Selosari Baru KPR neighborhood in Magetan (October 10, 2025), Ustadz Hasan Iqbal Tontowi thoroughly explored the importance of adab (adab) and tazkiyatun nafs (purification of the soul) as the main pillars of a Muslim's spiritual growth. The Ustadz emphasized that the soul requires spiritual training and nourishment, just like the physical, to prevent it from falling into childish tendencies and becoming prone to evil. This development process begins with fundamentals such as thaharah (purification), which is taught from an early age to cultivate self-discipline. He also explained that all Islamic law, from prayer and fasting to zakat, is essentially an instrument for curbing desires and cultivating piety in the heart. Through mujahadah (serious effort), every Muslim is encouraged to continuously cleanse the soul of despicable morals and replace them with noble qualities. At the end of the study, Ustadz invited the entire congregation to continually pray for guidance and help from Allah SWT in maintaining good manners and purifying the heart.
