In 1978, Ford Motor Company celebrated its 75th anniversary with two commemorative cars, one being the Lincoln Continental Mark V Diamond Jubilee Edition. They only produced a limited number with production of 5,159 and only 2,557 finished in “Jubilee Gold”. The Diamond Jubilee option was an additional $8,000 option over the base model making this the most expensive U.S. production car in 1978, coming in at a $22,000 sticker price at the dealership.
