How Japan Welcomes Newborn Babies 🇯🇵 | Omiyamairi Shrine Ceremony ⛩️

Japan has a beautiful way of welcoming newborns into the world 🇯🇵👶 In this video, we take our baby daughter to her first shrine visit, known as Omiyamairi (お宮参り) — a traditional Japanese ceremony where families give thanks for a child’s safe birth and pray for their health and happiness. Omiyamairi usually takes place around one month after birth, and it’s a deeply meaningful moment for Japanese families. We celebrated Lilie’s Omiyamairi a little later, when she was five months old, making the day even more special for us. From visiting the shrine ⛩️ to receiving blessings and protective charms, this ceremony marks a baby’s very first cultural milestone in Japan. As an international family raising a child in Japan, this day was incredibly special for us, and we wanted to share this beautiful tradition with you. We later returned to the shrine to hang our baby's Ema (絵馬) — small wooden prayer plaques commonly found at Japanese shrines, where wishes and prayers are written and left behind. If you’re interested in Japanese culture, family life in Japan, or raising a baby abroad, we hope you enjoy this glimpse into how Japan welcomes newborns. 👉 Watch our family journey, baby development & milestone playlist here:    • Lilie 💕   👍 Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more Japan travel adventures, food and life in Japan 📍 Location: Shiroyama-Hachimangu Shrine - 城山八幡宮 https://maps.app.goo.gl/zcXKKzmyGuykq... #japan #japaneseculture #お宮参り #omiyamairi #kimono #babyvlog #vlog #baby #newbornbaby #cutebaby #赤ちゃん #国際夫婦 #国際カップル
