Gareth Cole: Courage

Here he signs up to Steve Bug’s Sublease Music for three slick and impactful slices of deep, techy house. First up is Signal, a low-slung groover with hypnotic keys, and a thick, rounded bottom end driving the track forward. On Courage, the energy is amped somewhat, with plenty of space thanks to the dubby, minimal production. Gareth notes “I was very inspired by music and DJ sets from Guy J - there is this sort of hypnotic groove which locks you into the vibe and music. I wanted to create a synth lead to be the key player of the track, by setting the vibe and telling the story. It was designed on my go-to Synth Sylenth and repeats for the majority of the tune, with a combination of modulation and other elements playing around it to keep it moving and interesting”.
