Winfield Tanker - Firemans Friend Valve Retrofit

The Winfield VFD (Maryland) recently refurbished their 4-Guys 3,500-gallon tanker. Part of the project was the retrofitting of the rear direct fill line with a Firemans Friend Valve. The FFV replaced a handwheel operated, 5-inch butterfly valve. In this video clip we see a "driver only" operation as the tanker reloads at a fire hydrant. While not an ideal situation - it is practical - because in many instances the first arriving tanker at a fire call will also arrive at the fill site before an engine company can get their to support the operation.
