A very unusual open tuning This performance uses a particularly uncommon tuning: Eb – A – D – Gb – Bb – Eb (from lowest to highest string) The tuning creates a unique harmonic color while allowing many of the characteristic voicings and melodic movements heard throughout the piece. 2 . ⚠️ The original recording appears to be tuned noticeably below standard concert pitch (approximately A = 430 Hz). Comme toujours chez Mateus, ce qui rend cette performance si captivante, c’est l’équilibre entre la maîtrise technique et la sensibilité musicale. Son phrasé semble parfaitement naturel, les ornements s’enchaînent avec fluidité et chaque note paraît servir l’émotion du morceau.
