In Silence - Male Survivors of Sexual Assault | Kaeden Trinh Dance Concept

**Please note that this video is intentionally in silence - there is no audio** Sexual assault can happen to anyone, including men. According to some studies, 1 in 6 boys are sexually assaulted before they are adults, and 1 in 25 males over the age of 15 experience sexual assault. Along with the emotional strife that one can experience from being sexually assaulted, males may face other challenges due to prevailing social attitudes and stereotypes about men and masculinity in our society. Shame and confusion about one's identity, whether that be their sexuality, masculinity or other, are just some of the issues that survivors end up experiencing. Most will continue to live their lives haunted by the trauma as their stories and experiences are not taken seriously by society. We need to change our attitudes towards sexuality, consent, and gender roles, stereotypes and expectations. We need to challenge our own views and challenge those around us. We need to better support our community so that we can reduce these painful experiences for all - male, female, all genders.
