No one cares about your degree

I don't intend to disparage the DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice), but it doesn't represent what it was originally intended to represent: a terminal degree for practicing clinicians at the bedside, such as NPs and CRNAs. My recommendation is to soul search for what you may do 5 or 10 years down the road, and whether the DNP will become more and more the equivalent of the current Masters degree. Either degree is hard work, and requires some forethought. Unfortunately for those who are planning on obtaining their NP licensure, the DNP may be an attached requirement.
