A Tribute to Reginald Dixon MBE at the Wurlitzer Theatre Organ of the Tower Ballroom, Blackpool

At the Mighty Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ of the Tower Ballroom, Blackpool, Cameron Lloyd performs a medley of tunes closely associated with Reginald Dixon—the iconic resident organist whose name became synonymous with the venue for over 30 years. This tribute includes some of Dixon’s most recognisable numbers: I Do Like to Be Beside the Seaside – the classic British music hall song, composed in 1907 by John A. Glover-Kind, and Dixon’s signature tune. Stein Song – the University of Maine's spirited college anthem, composed by E.A. Fenstad with lyrics by Lincoln Colcord and made famous in the 1930s by Rudy Vallée. Happy Days Are Here Again – a Depression-era anthem of optimism written in 1929 by Milton Ager and Jack Yellen. Fascination – a French waltz composed in 1904 by Fermo Dante Marchetti, with later English lyrics by Dick Manning. I Kiss Your Hand, Madame – a 1928 Viennese-style ballad composed by Ralph Erwin, popularised in both English and German recordings. Somebody Stole My Gal – a jazz-era favourite written in 1918 by Leo Wood, later becoming a Dixieland and swing standard. Cameron Lloyd brings these nostalgic selections to life on the Tower’s iconic 3/13 Wurlitzer, drawing on a legacy of music that defined the British seaside holiday experience for generations. #CameronLloyd #ReginaldDixon #WurlitzerOrgan #TheatreOrgan #TowerBallroom #Blackpool #OrganMusic #BritishMusicHeritage #VintageMusic #Strictly #I_Do_Like_to_Be_Beside_the_Seaside #HappyDaysAreHereAgain #PipeOrgan #ClassicOrgan #HistoricRecordings #SomebodyStoleMyGal
