Masks *Album:* Masks *Genre:* Cursed Seafaring Industrial Funk / Haunted Grunge Rock *Format:* Original dark fantasy concept album Masks is an original tale inspired by the spirit of *Ironsworn**, **Starforged**, and **Sundered Isles* — a salt-soaked story of oaths, betrayal, judgment, vengeance, mercy, and the lies people wear as faces. This album takes place in a grim seafaring world of drowned harbors, reef lights, oath-courts, chapel bells, wreckers, raiders, floodgates, and old laws carved deeper than mercy. The coast lives under two moons: *Ember* and **Eidolon**. Ember burns low and red over the water, a moon of fire, memory, blood, and survival. Eidolon hangs pale and ghostly, a moon of masks, spirits, judgment, and the dead who will not stay silent. Across this broken coast, sacred vows are not merely spoken. They are witnessed. The keepers of those vows are known as the **Oathsworn**. An Oathsworn wears a hand-carved witness-mask, but the mask is not the oath. The oath is made through **Revelation**: the moment an Oathsworn removes the mask, shows their living face before witnesses, and binds their true self to the vow. To betray a Revelation is to become False-Revealed — a liar beneath both skin and wood. At the center of the story is a child of the ruined harbor of Brinegate, remade by fire, salt, and betrayal. After the massacre of his home, he takes up the abandoned mask of the one who broke his oath and becomes something between hunter, judge, ghost, and warning. Aboard his small vessel, **The Low Wake**, he follows the trail of broken Revelations across the coast. Each mask he claims tells another story of a vow betrayed: false light, silenced bells, sold refuge, pain made holy, impossible mercy, and the original lie that made him. But Masks is not only about punishment. It is about what happens when judgment becomes identity. It is about the difference between guilt and rot. It is about the terrible work of mercy. It is about whether a man who has worn another man’s face for too long can ever stand bare before the world again. The mask remembers bone. Lore Terms *Ember* - One of the two moons over the broken coast; red, low, firelit, tied to memory, blood, survival, ruin, and the spark that remains after everything burns. *Eidolon* - The other moon; pale, ghostly, and watchful, tied to masks, spirits, judgment, haunting, and the dead who still bear witness. *Oathsworn* - Masked vow-keepers who bind themselves through public Revelation. *Revelation* - The sacred act of removing the mask and swearing with one’s living face exposed before witnesses. *False-Revealed* - One who betrays a Revelation; a person whose living face has become a lie. *The Low Wake* - The hunter’s vessel; part boat, part chapel, part evidence room, part tomb.
