The victims were not robbed of their money or valuables, but only their left thumb and index finger. The culprit, a small, gentle-looking man, possessed superhuman strength capable of subduing even samurai, and was said to appear in distant towns overnight. Even Keishiro, the pockmarked man who tried to steal the case, went missing, and finally Umon took up the investigation. A red line drawn on an Edo map, a water-soaked kimono, the smell of pine resin— Umon, guided by these few clues, arrived at a white-walled mansion across the Okawa River, embracing a single pine tree. What is the true identity of the "ghost with legs" that swims across the river at night? And what is the terrifying jealousy of the old painter that created the ghost? 📗Table of Contents 00:00~: Introduction - The beginning of Episode 13, "The Ghost with Legs." 01:06~: The beginning of the case. Important testimonies emerge regarding the culprit's wet clothing and the smell of pine resin. 42:00: Umon discovers a "white-walled mansion" and a "pine tree." He's quick-tempered and articulate, but also kind-hearted and a charming character who follows Umon even in the face of danger. Abata no Keishiro Umon's colleague and a constable who often competes with him for fame. He interferes with Umon's summons to take on a case, but is captured by the criminals. Nemurihaku A renowned elderly Buddhist painter in Edo. He amassed a fortune through high fees and lives in a vast mansion surrounded by white walls. He is greedy and jealous, and hates his apprentice's talent and love. Goun A young painter and apprentice of Nemurihaku. He shows artistic talent that surpasses his master's, incurring Nemurihaku's jealousy. Despite suffering harsh treatment, he continues to paint with his remaining hands.
