In this first part, we review the basics to understand this condition: what happens in the body during pregnancy, the role of the placenta, and why screening is essential. Professor Vincent Dupont explains the medical mechanisms of preeclampsia, while Céline Camilieri shares the perspectives of patients, their experiences, and discusses the reasons that led her to create the Pregnancy Health Association against preeclampsia.
