KOMPAS.TV - Several residents in Karanganyar District, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java, have returned government-provided MinyaKita (Minyak Kita) aid. The free MinyaKita aid, part of the food aid program, has drawn complaints about its dark color and diesel-like odor. Since Thursday morning, residents have been flocking to return the government-provided MinyaKita aid. They complained about the strong odor when the oil is used for cooking. Food fried with the government-provided MinyaKita also tastes strange and bitter. This aid was previously distributed on June 17th. In Tegal Gede Village, Karanganyar, 858 families received aid. Each received 4 liters of oil and 20 kilograms of rice. Minister of Trade, Budi Santoso, responded to residents' complaints about the diesel-smelling MinyaKita. He emphasized that the license of the MinyaKita producer could be revoked if violations are found. Budi stated that the producer has recalled all products and is currently investigating to determine the cause of the diesel-smelling MinyaKita. Previously, MinyaKita, which smelled of diesel fuel, was also found in two sub-districts in Klaten Regency, Central Java. The MinyaKita was then returned by the community and replaced with a new product.
