With 3 bank holidays and no Sunday trading allowed, record sales were too disrupted to provide significant data. But this left a gap in the Radio 1 schedule for one Sunday each year. The answer? A chart run-down of the best selling singles of the entire year. So here they are - the biggest sellers of 1977, which include many hits that still make up the Radio 2 playlist today (2020) and a few other songs that have long since been forgotten. This programme was captured on a TDK D C-120 cassette on my Boots Audio radio-cassette recorder.
