I Made a 1930s Jacket Out of Reindeer

There's about 2000 Reindeer jackets made each year. In this video I set out to make a jacket from one of the most limited and sustainable leathers in the world, Reindeer. These hides come from reindeer herded by the Sámi in northern Sweden. The animals live almost completely free, migrating naturally between the mountains in summer and the forests or coastal areas in winter. Because they live wild, most hides become scratched or weathered, meaning only a small portion can be turned into leather. This was equal parts nerve-wracking and incredibly rewarding, and I’m excited to share the process with you. -------------------------------------------- Consumables I use Textile glue - https://amzn.to/4t2l4I0 Reinforcing Material (Vliseline) Thicker - https://amzn.to/4sWrwQJ Reinforcing Material (Vliseline) Thinner - https://amzn.to/4qCdrWS Bias tape (White) - https://amzn.to/49YkYbG Bias tape (Black) - https://amzn.to/45pWruD -------------------------------------------- 0:00 Intro 03:14 Sewing Begins 04:17 Cutting The Lining 05:44 Sewing Leather 07:20 Collar Assembly 08:25 Sewing The Lining 10:22 Putting It All Together 11:23 Zipper Adjustment 12:37 Testing My Nerves 13:39 Final Product -------------------------------------------- #leathercraft #Design #Fashion #tailoring #craftsmanship #fashion #craftideas #craft #leatherworking #leather #leatherjacket #howtomakeajacket #leathersewing #leatherartisan #handmade #diy #CueroArtesanal #TrabajoEnCuero #ChaquetaDeCuero #CómoHacerUnaChaqueta #حرف_الجلد #صناعة_الجلد #جاكيت_جلد #تعليم_الجلد #ورشة_جلد #レザークラフト #革細工 #レザージャケット #ジャケット制作 #ハンドメイド
