바위를 품은 집 — 평창동 경사지, 2년의 기다림
In Pyeongchang-dong, Seoul, a house was built on land filled with bedrock and steep slopes exceeding 30 degrees. Seven months for the design alone, and just over two years for construction. These were times difficult to imagine for an ordinary house. However, the client and the architect accepted the conditions of this land not as something to be overcome, but as the very essence of the house. The massive rock that has stood guard in the center of the site for decades was ultimately left unsculpted. The pine trees that had taken root over the ages were also left intact. Each of these choices transformed this house into a space unlike any other. The house is constructed in a stepped layout, staggered by half-story intervals along the sloping terrain. As you move up and down the path, the angle of the sunlight shifts, and the scenery outside the windows unfolds anew every moment. The space, with its ambiguous floor boundaries, feels much wider and richer than it actually is. And when you ascend to the rooftop courtyard, the landscape of the Pyeongchang-dong area unfolds before your eyes like a panorama. This house did not attempt to conquer nature. This is the result of a long conversation between the architect and the client, who decided to read the terrain and live with the rocks. ───────────────────────── 📌 What You Can See in This Video ✔ Full space tour of the detached house on a slope in Pyeongchang-dong, Seoul ✔ Design strategy for a terraced house built on bedrock ✔ Nature-friendly architecture that preserves the rocks and pine trees ✔ Three-dimensional spatial sense created by a half-story staggered structure ✔ Lighting and view design utilizing clerestory and vertical windows ✔ Finishing details of solid wood flooring, facing brick, and system windows ✔ Panoramic view of Pyeongchang-dong from the rooftop courtyard ───────────────────────── 🔎 Videos You Should Check Out 👉 View more houses on slopes on this channel 👉 Seoul Detached House Series 👉 Houses Embracing Nature Series ──────────────────────── 📖 This video is based on an article from the monthly magazine My Home in the Countryside Produced───────────────────────── #PyeongchangdongHouse #SlopeHouse #DetachedHouse #SeoulDetachedHouse #TerraceHouse #HouseOnRock #HouseEmbracingTheRock #EcoFriendlyHouse #PyeongchangdongArchitecture #HouseDesign #ArchitectureTour #InteriorTour #CircularPlot #SlopeArchitecture #DecorativeBrick #MyHouseInTheCountry #HouseSpace #ArchitectureDocumentary #HouseBuilding #SeoulHouse
