Four DIY scopes in practice - are they worth it?
This video firstly separates scopes into 11 cathegories for us to better understand the differences between their architectures. Then we'll have a look at two basic scopey thingeys, and what they are able and unable to do. Then comes Mustool MT8208 and MDS8207, which ar one from other more different than one would guess. We will also look at some waveforms, like from cheap function generator, then from cost effective DC/AC inverter, but also commercial pure sine wave inverter, and also inspect PWM regulator behavior. Please keep in mind, that electricity, when mishandled, can kill people/animals or damage property. Unexperienced people with no electrical enginnering education should stick only to safe voltages (eg. SELV and PELV), usually up to 24V. Any higher voltages should only be handled by professionals, or under supervision from professional. Keep in mind, that even mains isolated 230V can hurt you, as you can touch both potentials at the same time. Also, AC current prevents you from being able to control your muscles and makes them cramp, so if you hold live wire, you will probably keep holding it until your pain is replaced by your death. Please, people, think about safety - insulation for live potentials, and at least generic rubber / nitrile gloves should be the bare minimum. I am personally professional electrician with official certification for working on live devices, with certification for distribution, and also for projecting. I know what I am doing, and I am aware of the risks. Reproducing my actions is only for professinals.
