Egypt’s Football Federation has called on FIFA to investigate French referee François Letexier and his officiating team following the Pharaohs’ controversial 3-2 World Cup last-16 defeat to Argentina. Federation president Hany Aburida has alleged major officiating errors and questioned decisions made during the match, including Mostafa Ziko’s disallowed goal and a late penalty appeal. Egypt coach Hossam Hassan has also criticised the refereeing, claiming his team was treated unfairly during the clash with the reigning world champions.
