Part 6 of an 8-part television series commissioned by Border Television and produced by Soul Purpose Productions. This edition was broadcast on 29 September 1996. “Heavenly Voices” takes the viewer on a musical journey through 1000 years of Christian music-making and features a number of choirs of different types, including those of the Chapel Royal, St Alban’s Cathedral and Hereford Cathedral. Its narrator is Barry Rose, formerly choirmaster at Guildford, St Paul’s and St Alban’s Cathedrals and for twenty years Religious Music Adviser to the BBC.
