The Vesak Story Almost No One Tells | Yasodharā Jayanti Anuradhapura

In this video, I share one of my favourite stories from the life of Arahant Yasodharā Therī and why remembering her matters not just every Vesak but even on a day to day basis to grow self-worth. Yasodharā Jayanti (her birthday) reminds us of the great woman who fulfilled her pāramīs alongside the Bodhisatta through countless lifetimes before attaining full awakening herself. One of my deepest aspirations is to help revive the stories of the great enlightened nuns so that future generations grow up with awakened women as role models. Our children need good examples to follow. And when women hear these stories, I hope they see what is possible for them too. That the door to awakening remains open, 2,600 years later.
