At Evans Disability, our core mission is to give hope, encouragement, and knowledge to people who are disabled, and help them find a pathway to financial security by walking with them through the Social Security disability process. Evans Disability is honored to welcome the Honorable Elizabeth Watson, a distinguished former Social Security Administrative Law Judge (ALJ), to our team as Of Counsel. With a career defined by an unwavering dedication to public service, Judge Watson’s unique perspective and profound knowledge of disability law provide a significant strategic advantage for our clients. During her tenure at the Social Security Administration, Judge Watson presided over and decided on more than 6,000 disability hearings. This extensive experience from the other side of the bench gives her unparalleled insight into the criteria judges use to evaluate cases and the type of evidence required to prove a claim. She has a deep, firsthand understanding of the complexities and nuances of the Social Security disability adjudication process, which she will now use to advocate for our clients. Judge Watson’s professional journey is marked by versatility and a commitment to justice. Before her time with the Social Security Administration, she served as an Administrative Law Judge for the State of Oregon, where she adjudicated a wide range of cases, including unemployment disputes and child support matters. This broad legal background honed her analytical skills and bolstered her ability to evaluate cases fairly and impartially. Prior to her judicial career, Elizabeth was a judicial clerk for the State of Alaska Court of Appeals, where she gained foundational insights into the legal system. She also gained valuable experience in civil litigation, representing clients in a diverse range of cases. A proud veteran, Elizabeth’s passion for service extends beyond the legal profession. She dedicated career to the years to the United States Coast Guard, retiring as a Commander. This distinguished military career, which began with active duty and transitioned to a reserve role, further exemplifies her unwavering commitment to community and country. Elizabeth’s dedication to public service and advocating for those in need aligns perfectly with Evans Disability’s core mission: to give hope, encouragement and knowledge to people who are disabled, and help them find a pathway to financial security by walking with them through the Social Security disability process. Her exceptional background will be an invaluable asset in fulfilling this promise to every client.
