Golden Earring - Movin' Down Life • TopPop
Golden Earring was a Dutch rock band formed in 1961 in The Hague, making them one of the longest-running rock groups in history. Originally founded as The Golden Earrings, the band evolved from a beat group into an international rock act. They achieved worldwide success in the 1970s with their biggest hits, including “Radar Love” (1973) and “Twilight Zone” (1982). “Radar Love” became a global rock classic, reaching the Top 10 in the UK and the Top 20 on the US Billboard Hot 100, while “Twilight Zone” peaked at No. 10 in the United States, supported by one of the early popular music videos on MTV. Other notable songs include “When the Lady Smiles,” “Another 45 Miles,” and “Back Home,” many of which were major hits in the Netherlands and across Europe. Golden Earring enjoyed strong international touring success, especially in the United States, where they built a loyal fanbase and regularly charted during their peak years. The band officially came to an end in 2021, when co-founder and guitarist George Kooymans was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), making it impossible for him to continue performing. Rather than continue without him, the remaining members chose to disband, closing a remarkable 60-year career. Watch our great music videos ❯ https://goo.gl/feVLNN More TopPop?
