#barcelona #architecture #fireworks A drone portrait in the sky and fireworks in front of the Sagrada Família: Barcelona celebrated the inauguration of the new bell tower with a spectacular show. You can see the impressive images of the four-minute spectacle in the video. Pope Leo XIV had previously celebrated Mass in the basilica designed by Gaudí in honor of the architect, who died 100 years ago. Around 4,000 people attended. The highlight came after nightfall: Following the blessing in front of the Nativity façade, light projections, drones, and fireworks transformed the basilica into a giant stage. To the cheers of the crowd, a portrait of Gaudí first appeared in the sky. Then the drones formed one of his most famous quotes: "First comes love, then technology." The foundation stone of the Sagrada Família was laid in 1882. The basilica is not expected to be completed until the 2030s. This unique structure continues to attract increasing numbers of visitors: in 2025, it welcomed almost 4.9 million people. Entrance fees generated approximately €134.5 million. Construction has always been financed through donations, but now primarily through ticket sales.
