Philippines Travel VlogšBanaue | Batad Rice Terraces | Riding On The Roof of a Jeepney
Hey Guys! Welcome and in this Philippines travel vlog, I am going to visit Banaue Batad Rice Terraces while Riding On The Roof of a Jeepney. ā¶ļø Please Subscribe: Ā Ā Ā /Ā robbietravelsĀ Ā The terraces of Batad are a beautiful sight to see. Carved out of the mountains of Ifugao like giant stairs, the terraces are worth a trip. My trip to Batad started on a jeepney, which in itself was a unique experience. A Jeepney is an old military truck that the U.S. army left in the Philippines after World War II. The huge beast had been turned into a bus for people. The roof was an extra place for people to sit when there weren't enough seats down below. Even though Banaue has beautiful rice terraces, most people only stay there for a day or two. Even though Batad is close to Banaue, it can be hard to get there. There are often washed-out bridges, landslides, and roads that haven't been taken care of. The village of Batad is high above the town center, on a peak. When you get there, it's a 45-minute walk down to the town center. Since there are no roads leading to the quiet village of 1,500 people, the only way to get there is by walking. There aren't many places to stay in Batad, but many people will invite you into their homes, cook for you, and give you a glass of local rice wine. During the way down, you can find a lot of guides who will help you for a small fee. In a town like Batad, a guide is a good friend to have. There are a lot of paths and sights that you could miss if you don't plan or pay attention. Hiking through the rice terraces of Batad is a good trail that any traveler should try. The 2,000-year-old terraces are tricky to walk on and require a good sense of balance. Some paths are only wide enough for one person to pass, and there are steep drops of 10 feet or more in some places. But there is no better reward than getting to the point where you can see the beautiful terraces carved into the Ifugao mountains. Don't miss the road to Batad if you go to the Philippines. The trip from Manila is long, but at the end of it is an eighth wonder of the world. Homestays, people, and culture will welcome you with open arms. The rice terraces are really amazing, and they show once again that no journey is too hard when the reward is so big. In many cases, like this one, the journey is half the fun. ā¶ļø Things that I did in Batad village: ⢠Top of a jeepney riding to the Batad village. ⢠Hike to the Batad Rice Terraces ⢠Visit the village of Batad. ⢠Meet some locals. ⢠Make our own rice (together with my girlfriend). ⢠Drink rice wine.
